A limousine service company reported that they got charged with 4 brand new iPhone bundles on their American Express business card. Client's email was breached and hacker rerouted fraud alert so client could not be aware of the fraudulent charges.
Solution
Guided client to change their passwords along with MFA/2FA enable and enabled Microsoft Email security features. Enabled DNS filtering. Client was instructed to report to their card company for theft and enrolled staff in cybersecurity awareness program.
Home Healthcare Company Fined $500,000 for Compliance Violation
Challenge
CMS audit failed and fined $500,000 to the client for not having their technology HIPAA compliant from email security, no documentation, and network concerns. The charges were not dropped even after a year getting assistance from an attorney.
Solution
It took six months of process working with office manager and technology upgrading including putting a business class firewall, enabling HIPAA compliant email service and various network security upgrades. The case was entirely dropped after submitting full IT documentation with changes. CMS also gave us achievement letter for huge success.
